Latin AMAs 2019: Marc Anthony Honored with the International Artist Award of Excellence
“This doesn’t happen overnight,” the Puerto Rican singer said as he received the award from Mexican actress Kate Del Castillo; he also took a moment to thanked his children for their sacrifices and he remembered José José with a special tribute.
The Legendary singer was recognized as an artist that turned the world around with his talent crossing over barriers of language, race and religion.
Anthony is one of the most influential artists of his time, and a true ambassador of Latin culture and music. Anthony launched his solo career in 1988 with his debut album, “Rebel.” Up to date, the singer, actor and producer has received countless gold and platinum awards from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), with more than 31 hits on the Billboard charts and over 7.4 billion views on YouTube.
Besides being a successful musician, Marc Anthony created the Maestro Cares Foundation, which hosts various fundraising events throughout the year to benefit the non-profit organization and build orphanages in Latin America. Anthony has also extrapolated his success to the corporate landscape, by becoming a minority-owner of The Miami Dolphins football team, and starting his own entertainment company, Magnus Media.
